About Abyss
Brazilian subsea and oceanographic engineering company, founded in 2009 in Niterói, RJ.
Our History
Founded in 2009, Abyss was created to reduce import dependence for highly specialized technical services in the Brazilian offshore sector. Over the years it consolidated its own laboratory and test infrastructure, developed its own line of winches, sheaves and instrumentation, and created the Abyss Datalink and Abyss ROW software ecosystem for metocean monitoring — always with a local team and fast response.

Three pressure vessels for hydrostatic testing simulating up to 3,000 m of water column (~4,500 psi).

Controlled environment with high-vacuum chamber for subsea connection molding.
Wind Tunnel
Linear tunnel from 0 to 14 m/s for verification of wind speed and direction sensors.
Thermal Chamber
±0.05 °C stability for temperature sensor verification.
T&M Laboratory
Electro-electronics benches for preventive and corrective instrumentation maintenance.
Operational Base
Facilities in Niterói, RJ, with a multidisciplinary team and 24/7 service.
Methodology and Quality
Mobilizations managed as projects per PMBoK/PMI; measurement management per NBR ISO 10012:2010; processes adherent to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Every delivery includes complete technical documentation — reports, quality dossiers and commissioning records.
