Description

The Abyss cableshop performs assembly, molding and repair of subsea electrical cables and connectors in a controlled environment: a Class 100,000 clean room with a high-vacuum chamber to eliminate bubbles and moisture in moldings. The result is terminations with factory-equivalent performance, without the cost and lead time of importing.

The service covers terminations and penetrators, splice and harness molding, replacement of damaged connectors and complete electrical testing — continuity, insulation and leak-tightness, with hydrostatic testing in the site's own hyperbaric chamber. Every part ships with a quality dossier and material traceability.

Service scope

  • Termination and molding of subsea electrical connectors.
  • Repair and re-termination of electromechanical cables and light umbilicals.
  • Molding in a Class 100,000 clean room with high vacuum.
  • Integrated continuity, insulation and leak-tightness testing.
  • Custom harnesses and jumpers for ROV and instrumentation.
  • Quality dossier with material traceability.

Frequently asked questions

Why does clean-room molding matter?
Contamination and moisture are the main causes of subsea molding failure. The Class 100,000 clean room and high-vacuum chamber eliminate these factors, producing terminations with factory-grade reliability.
Do you repair cables damaged in operation?
Yes. We repair and re-terminate electromechanical cables and harnesses, with electrical and hydrostatic tests proving recovery of original performance.
Which tests come with delivery?
Continuity, insulation resistance and leak-tightness — including hydrostatic testing in our on-site hyperbaric chamber, with a technical report.
