Abyss is RACOM’s representative in Brazil for the naval and offshore segments. We combine RACOM communication equipment with our experience in remote telemetry, oceanographic instrumentation and offshore operations.
RACOM was founded in 1989 by four radio amateurs in Nové Město na Moravě, Czech Republic, and has focused on wireless data transmission for mission-critical applications since 1991. The company designs and builds radio modems, cellular routers and microwave links in-house for SCADA and telemetry networks in power, water, oil & gas and mining. It remains owned by the founders' families and employees, with around 150 staff.

Field commissioning and local technical support, with 24/7 service.
In Indonesia, M!DGE routers carry leak-detection data from sensors at single point mooring (SPM) buoys to the onshore terminal SCADA over OpenVPN tunnels, with Modbus TCP integration.
At the Stag field offshore Western Australia, 400 MHz RipEX radios use DNP3 to share anchor-cable tension, line pressure and solar voltage between the FSO and the CALM buoy, meeting a regulatory requirement for simultaneous monitoring.
Since 2017, Kuwait's environmental authority has run a 300 MHz RipEX network that collects data from solar-powered offshore buoys, using multi-hop repeaters to overcome distance and sea curvature and support early oil-spill detection.
Wellhead monitoring and toxic-gas detection using ATEX-certified radios, redundant hot-standby master stations and solar-powered sites, as in projects for Pakistan Petroleum and ADNOC.
At ExxonMobil's Port-Jérôme-Gravenchon refinery in France, a RipEX mesh network with backup routes and M!DGE cellular redundancy drives the warning sirens covering nine surrounding towns.
RipEX radio modems for private networks in licensed VHF/UHF bands, with hops of tens of kilometres and any unit able to act as a repeater. Suited to SCADA and telemetry where cellular coverage is unreliable, such as buoys, platforms and remote terminals.
